Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeneß has defended the club’s transfer decisions during the 2025 summer window, saying it was the right choice not to sign young talents Xavi Simons, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Benjamin Sesko.
Hoeneß explained that Bayern wanted to avoid financial risks and remain focused on sustainable growth. Speaking to Fabrizio Romano, he said:
“We made the right decision not to sign any of these players,” referring to Simons, Gittens, and Sesko.
On striker Harry Kane, Hoeneß revealed the forward has a release clause until the end of January but is expected to stay at Bayern until his contract ends in 2027.
“If it were up to us, and I’ve heard he wants it too, he will extend. His family feels comfortable here in Germany,” Hoeneß said.
He added that Kane enjoys a quieter life in Munich compared to London, saying:
“Harry Kane only ever worked with bodyguards at home in London. You don’t necessarily need that kind of life. In Munich, you can still go about your business in peace.”
Bayern Munich will next face Union Berlin in the DFB-Pokal round of 16 on Wednesday.
