Bose Ogulu has come out strongly in defense of her son, Burna Boy, following ongoing backlash over his personality.
The music executive addressed the criticism during a conversation with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, making it clear that she is completely unbothered by claims that her son is arrogant.
According to her, what many people interpret as arrogance is simply confidence and self-awareness. She argued that knowing your worth and carrying yourself accordingly should not be seen as a negative trait.
“I don’t mind at all,” she said, adding that people are free to attach any label they want. She emphasized that if being confident in one’s abilities is seen as arrogance, then there’s nothing wrong with that.
Bose went further to explain that public figures are often judged by people who have never met them, leading to misconceptions about their true character. She stressed that society has historically conditioned people especially Africans to downplay their confidence, something she clearly rejects.
Her comments come amid ongoing debates online, where fans and critics continue to argue over Burna Boy’s personality some calling him bold and self-assured, while others label him proud.
By standing firmly behind her son, Bose Ogulu has once again reinforced her role not just as his manager, but as one of his strongest defenders in the public eye.
The statement has since sparked fresh reactions, with many fans supporting her stance that confidence should never be mistaken for arrogance especially for someone operating at Burna Boy’s global level.
