Manchester United have sacked Ruben Amorim as head coach, the club has confirmed.

Amorim, who was appointed in November 2024, led the team to the UEFA Europa League final in Bilbao in May, but Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League, prompting the club’s leadership to make the decision to part ways.

In an official statement, the club said the change was made to give the team “the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.” They also thanked Amorim for his contribution and wished him well in the future.

Darren Fletcher will take charge of the squad for their upcoming match against Burnley on Wednesday.

This is a developing story, and 9jaonline Magazine will provide updates as they become available.
