he Otabor family is in mourning after the death of Ruth Otabor, younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna.
Ruth, who had just graduated from Auchi Polytechnic, died on Sunday morning, weeks after being involved in a serious accident.
Her death was announced in a statement by Eko Solicitors & Advocates on behalf of the family.
“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs,” the statement read.
The family described the loss as painful and asked the public for privacy as they grieve. They said details of the burial will be made known later.
On August 13, Ruth was hit by a Dangote truck near Auchi Polytechnic, just six days after completing her studies. The accident crushed her leg and led to an amputation.
Her death has shocked friends, fans, and well-wishers, many of whom have taken to social media to send condolences to Phyna and her family.
