Media personality Toke Makinwa has become a mother for the first time at 40, as she welcomed a baby girl.
The announcement came on Thursday through her Instagram page, where she described it as the happiest moment of her life.
“I’m a mommy. This is the happiest I’ve ever been,” she wrote.
She revealed her daughter’s name as Yakira Eliana Olakitan Iyanuoluwa Ikeoluwa Adunola, calling her “my purpose, my reason, my evidence.”
“My miracle is here. Every single detail, down to your fingers and toes, God heard my prayers. Meet my miracle, Yakira Eliana — Precious, Beloved — of great worth, my God has answered,” she added.
Earlier this month, Makinwa confirmed pregnancy rumours when she showed off her baby bump.
She had previously spoken about her desire for motherhood, once joking in a video with Afrobeats singer Falz that she might consider surrogacy so as not to “ruin her shape.”
Now, she says she has witnessed “the goodness of God” as she begins life with her daughter.
