Burna Boy’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, has asked the Grammy-winning singer to consider marriage and children as he marked his 35th birthday.
The moment happened during a private birthday celebration with close friends and family on July 2.
In a clip from the event shared on Snapchat by one of Burna Boy’s associates, Richie 7, the singer was asked to make a birthday wish.
“I wish for good health and prosperity,” Burna Boy said.
His mother quickly stepped in and told him to add something more personal to the prayer.
“Add good wife and children,” she said.
Burna Boy’s Back Story on Marriage
The remark drew attention because Burna Boy has previously explained why he is yet to marry or have children.
The singer had said in an earlier interview that he does not want to have children out of wedlock or bring kids into the world when he cannot be fully present in their lives.
According to him, his music career still demands too much of his time and attention, and he would rather wait until he can properly commit to family life.
Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, remains one of Africa’s most successful music exports.
His mother, Bose Ogulu, has played a major role in his career as his manager and is widely respected for helping build his global brand.
But at his birthday celebration, she briefly stepped away from manager mode and spoke as a mother who wants to see her son settle down.
The light-hearted exchange has since stirred reactions from fans, with many joking that even an African Giant is not free from a mother’s marriage pressure.
