Nollywood veteran Chiwetalu Agu has urged men to carefully consider their financial readiness before starting a family, noting that raising a child comes with significant responsibilities and expenses.
In a video shared on Instagram, Agu highlighted the rising cost of living in the country, including pampers, school fees, fuel, and basic commodities, warning that men who rush into fatherhood without adequate preparation may face hardship.
“Pampers prices are increasing, school fees are rising, fuel prices are going up, and even the cost of basic commodities keeps rising. Yet if you have nothing and you’re still getting a woman pregnant, you’ll cry more than the baby,” Agu said.
He advised men to exercise caution and take parental responsibilities seriously, emphasizing that impulsive decisions in the face of financial unpreparedness could have long-term consequences.
