Nigerian music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has jokingly hinted that he may take his search for a wife outside Nigeria.
The Mavin Records boss made the comment during a light-hearted exchange with fans on Instagram after one follower described him as an “African treasure” who no longer belongs to Nigerians alone.
Fan calls Don Jazzy an African treasure
The conversation started after a fan suggested that Don Jazzy had become bigger than one country.
“Don Jazzy at this point an African treasure. Yes, he belongs to all of us now, not just you Nigerians,” the fan wrote.
Responding to the comment, Don Jazzy said he sometimes feels connected to different African countries, including Ghana, South Africa and Uganda.
Don Jazzy jokes about finding love in East Africa
The 43-year-old producer then jokingly turned the conversation to marriage, saying he had heard good things about women in Uganda.
According to him, since he has not found a wife in Nigeria, he may consider looking towards Uganda or Tanzania.
“Sometimes, I feel like I’m Ghanaian, sometimes South African. Sometimes I feel like I’m Ugandan, even though I haven’t been to Uganda,” he said.
He added that he had heard that Uganda was an interesting place and jokingly asked whether women there liked him.
“Maybe I should come to Uganda since I did not find a wife in Nigeria. Maybe I should go and find a wife in Uganda or Tanzania,” Don Jazzy said.
Don Jazzy’s past marriage
Don Jazzy has previously opened up about his first marriage.
In 2021, he revealed that he was once married to Michelle Jackson.
The music executive said they got married when he was 20 years old, but the marriage ended after two years.
He later admitted that his deep focus on building his music career affected the relationship.

In 2024, Don Jazzy also spoke about why he had not remarried.
According to him, he was still working on himself and going through a process of personal development.
