Former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has opened up on the reason behind her fallout with popular social media commentator, VeryDarkMan, during the case involving her late younger sister, Ruth Otabor.
The reality TV star made the claim in a series of posts on X, where she accused VeryDarkMan of turning the public against her while she was seeking justice for her sister.
Phyna speaks on fallout with VeryDarkMan
Phyna alleged that her disagreement with VeryDarkMan worsened after she rejected what she described as an unwanted personal advance from him.
According to her, she once held VeryDarkMan in high regard but felt disappointed by the way he handled the matter publicly.
She claimed that he later gave a different version of events and made her look bad before Nigerians during one of the most painful periods of her life.
How Ruth Otabor’s case brought them together
Phyna had earlier reached out to VeryDarkMan in 2025 after her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, was reportedly hit by a Dangote Cement truck in Edo State.
The case drew public attention after VeryDarkMan became involved and Phyna continued to demand justice for her sister.
Following the pressure, Dangote Cement reportedly pledged to take responsibility for Ruth’s medical care.
Why the relationship broke down
The relationship between Phyna and VeryDarkMan later collapsed after he withdrew from the case.
VeryDarkMan had claimed that Phyna went behind him to negotiate with the company.
Phyna denied the allegation, insisting that she never demanded N1 billion from Dangote Cement.
She said she was shocked by the claim because, according to her, no such conversation ever happened.
Phyna says she felt betrayed
Speaking on the dispute, Phyna said VeryDarkMan’s actions hurt her deeply because the matter involved her late sister.
“VeryDarkMan came out to say the opposite of what happened. I can never forgive him because he turned me into a bad person over my sister’s case,” she said.
She added that the fallout became even more painful because it happened while she was still dealing with her sister’s case.
