Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, shared an emotional message with his daughter, Kira Taiwo, weeks before his death.
Kira revealed the conversation on Monday, a day after the actor’s passing, as she paid tribute to her father.
The exchange showed Ogogo encouraging his daughter to remain strong while assuring her that he was doing his best despite his health challenges.
Ogogo urged daughter to stay strong
In the message dated July 26, the actor told Kira that seeing her and her sisters happy gave him strength.
“How are you? I heard you are crying. Seeing you and your sisters smile is making me strong. If you cry, it will make me sad, and I will start to think,” Ogogo wrote.
He further encouraged her to trust in Allah and remain hopeful.
“Be strong. I am strong. Nothing is going to happen to me, insha Allah. If you do, then don’t cry, my princess,” he added.
Kira responded by assuring her father of her faith and expressing her love for him.
“Daddy, I’m not crying oo… don’t mind Haleemah. I trust in Allah, sir. I love you very much,” she wrote.
Ogogo replied, “Love u too, my princess.”
The emotional exchange came weeks before the family disclosed that the actor was battling stage-four cancer.
His daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, had earlier appealed for medical assistance after his condition worsened.
Ogogo died on Sunday at the age of 66, with tributes pouring in from fans, colleagues and stakeholders in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
