Fury’s promoter open to Joshua showdown despite Usyk plans

Tyson Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, has revealed that a highly anticipated fight between Fury and Anthony Joshua is still possible—even as Fury eyes a third bout with Oleksandr Usyk.

Speaking to Sky News, Warren admitted the all-British clash between Fury and Joshua remains a dream fight for many fans.

“For the British public, Fury versus AJ is the fight that never happened. It’s still got huge appeal,” Warren said.

Fury retired earlier this year after back-to-back close losses to Ukraine’s Usyk. But recent training videos suggest the former WBC heavyweight champion might be planning a comeback.

Warren believes Fury is eager to settle the score with Usyk, especially after feeling he was unfairly judged in one of their two fights.

“He wants to get revenge. One of those fights, we strongly believe he won,” Warren added.

Still, Warren stirred the pot by backing Daniel Dubois to defeat Usyk in their upcoming fight—an upset that could change everything.

“If Dubois beats Usyk, that changes the whole picture,” he said.

Fury and Joshua both held world heavyweight titles at the same time but never fought, leaving fans wanting. Talks over the years failed to produce a deal, and that frustration remains.

Warren also warned Joshua about trying to rematch Dubois, who knocked out the two-time champion at Wembley Stadium last September.

“Dubois is getting better and better,” he said. “It’s a tough fight for AJ. He’s a warrior, a two-time champion, but boxing is often a young man’s game.”

Despite the setback, Joshua’s earnings have continued to rise. He is now worth €232 million, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List—up €24 million from last year.

Joshua has not fought since the knockout loss and was expected to take on Dubois again until minor injuries reportedly delayed his return.

Should Fury and Joshua ever meet in the ring, the fight would likely break British boxing records, with both men capable of drawing eight-figure paydays.
