Alternative music icon Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has fiercely escalated his long-standing rivalry with Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy, must pay for crossing him.
Appearing on the latest episode of the NotJustOk podcast, Brymo addressed the bitter feud that began in 2023 when he openly accused Burna Boy of intellectual property theft. Burna Boy later fired back with a viral, biting live freestyle containing the lyric, “Hustle make you no go fall off like Brymo.” Refusing to let the matter slide, Brymo used his recent platform to issue a stern, uncompromising warning to his colleague, insisting that his thirst for vengeance will not be cooled by industry status or affiliations.
“Your name no go ever appears for my song for life. You’re too small, who is your mate? I don’t care what fraternity you belong to. He has wronged me and I must take revenge.” Brymo said.
Downplaying international wins and questioning artistic merit
The “Ara” crooner made it clear that he harbors deep resentment over how the narrative has been handled, stating that Burna Boy has bitten off more than he can chew. During the explosive interview, Brymo did not just limit his grievances to their personal dispute; he took direct aim at Burna Boy’s globally celebrated career achievements, aggressively questioning the integrity of major international music awards.
Brymo boldly claimed that high-profile accolades are often bought through corporate maneuvering rather than earned through raw talent. To back up his claims, he alleged that he had previously been approached with a $10,000 proposition to secure a BET Award in the past.
