Galatasaray explains how they signed Osimhen without selling any player

Galatasaray Vice President, Abdullah Kavukçu, has revealed how the club managed to sign Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, without selling any player or taking a loan.

Osimhen, who was on loan at the Turkish club last season, impressed with 37 goals in 41 games and helped them win the league title. Now, Galatasaray has made his move permanent in a record-breaking €75 million deal — the most expensive transfer in Turkish football history.

In an interview with Hurriyet, Kavukçu explained that the club had been planning the deal since January and worked hard to raise the funds.

“We believed in this move from the beginning. We didn’t borrow money or sell any player. We paid part of the fee now, and the rest will be paid within a year,” he said.

The deal also includes a 10% sell-on clause and bonuses based on Osimhen’s goal performance.

He said some people didn’t believe the club could pull it off.

“People thought it was just for show. But we were serious, and now it’s done. We didn’t ask anyone for help,” he added.

Osimhen was welcomed by thousands of excited fans at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport, where he promised to score goals and win trophies for the club.

Kavukçu also asked fans to be patient as the club works on more signings.

“Galatasaray is a big club. Trust us and believe in our plans,” he said.
