Nigerian content creator and streamer Carter Efe has recounted the heartbreaking story of how his father, a police officer, was killed in Ogun State.
Speaking with The Honest Bunch, the skit maker, whose real name is Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, revealed that his father fell victim to armed robbers disguised in military uniform.
“My dad had just finished duty and was heading home. He decided to enter the police van to get to the nearest bus stop to our house. We were in Ogun State at the time. They ran into a gridlock, and some men in military camouflage were robbing. My dad and his colleagues got out of the van to check, but as soon as the robbers saw them in police uniform, they opened fire. My dad is on YouTube — I saw his lifeless body on the ground in uniform,” Carter Efe recalled.
He admitted that the traumatising incident continues to affect him but has shaped his resilience.
“I am no stranger to pain. I have gone through a lot, and no pain will make me stop my grind,” he said.
