Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has shared how her Christian faith helped her overcome years of addiction and personal struggles.
She spoke on Sunday during a church service at Streams of Joy International Church in Abuja, where she described her experience as a testimony of gratitude.
Dikeh said she struggled for many years with severe anger, smoking, alcohol abuse, and masturbation, which she said affected her life and relationships.
According to the actress, she only began to experience peace recently, at the age of 40.
She revealed that she started smoking cigarettes at the age of 13 and continued for 27 years. She warned parents to keep unhealthy habits away from their children, saying such behaviours can easily influence them.
Dikeh said she picked up smoking because her father smoked and advised parents to be mindful of what their children see at home.
The actress also admitted that she abused alcohol for many years, saying she drank heavily on a daily basis and often lost control.
She added that she battled with sexual immorality from a young age, including masturbation and disturbing dreams, which she said troubled her for most of her life.
Dikeh said she experienced a turning point after attending a prayer conference in Ghana, where she believed she received spiritual healing.
According to her, those long-standing struggles have now ended, and she is grateful for the change in her life.
