Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has spoken again about her relationship with Genevieve Nnaji, revealing that they were once close before they gradually drifted apart.

Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has opened up about why she and her colleague, Genevieve Nnaji, are no longer as close as they used to be.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Henshaw said she could not clearly explain what caused the distance between them.
According to her, she and Genevieve were once close and often attended events together before the friendship began to fade.

Henshaw said the change happened without any clear explanation, adding that she eventually accepted the situation and moved on.
“We grew apart. We were close and we used to go to events together and then there was that gap. I don’t know what happened, I don’t know what came over her but hey, I moved on,” she said.
The actress said life has taught her that people come into one’s life for different reasons and seasons.
“I say this with hindsight: People are in your life for different reasons and seasons,” she added.
“Some are roots, some are branches, some are leaves. That’s how it is through life. Roots would always be roots.”
Kate Henshaw Recalls Past Issues With Genevieve
This is not the first time Henshaw has spoken about her relationship with Genevieve.
In 2023, the actress also addressed their estranged friendship, saying that although they had their differences, the issues between them were not serious.
She said she still loved Genevieve but noted that the actress sometimes withdraws from people.
“Genevieve, we have had our issues but not big issues,” Henshaw said at the time.
“I have loved her. You know sometimes she pulls away. She pulls away from everybody and you’re like, ‘Am I smelling?’”
Genevieve Nnaji’s Social Media Absence
Genevieve Nnaji has also attracted public attention in the past over her social media activity.
In January 2022, the award-winning actress unfollowed everyone on Instagram and later deleted all her posts on the platform.
The move sparked public conversation about her absence from social media, although Genevieve later shared reflections on mental health in March 2022.

Henshaw’s latest comments suggest that there may not have been a major public fallout between the two actresses.
Instead, she described the situation as one of two people gradually drifting apart over time.
The actress said she has accepted the distance and now sees relationships through the lens of timing, seasons and personal growth.
Genevieve Nnaji and Kate Henshaw remain two of Nollywood’s most respected actresses, with both women having built long and successful careers in the Nigerian film industry.
