‘I had mental health issues’- Crayon reveals

Nigerian singer Charles Chibueze Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, has opened up about his past struggle with mental health.

Speaking during a livestream with Nigerian content creator Carter Efe, Crayon revealed that he experienced mental health challenges in 2022 due to pressure from both his family and the music industry.

He explained that the stress of meeting expectations and trying to grow his career took a toll on him.

“In 2022, I had mental health issues from all sorts of stress — family, industry, trying to be number one stress. I was hospitalised for a long therapy session, then I came out and dropped Labalaba and Overloading,” he said.

The singer’s candid confession highlights the mental health pressures faced by artists navigating the competitive entertainment industry in Nigeria.
