Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry is making headlines and not for Madea this time. On the latest episode of Den of Kings, the billionaire spilled the tea: he actually hired his aunt to work for him, only to fire herafter she repeatedly called in sick all while still asking him for money.
Tyler recalled telling her, “I want to help you build this thing, not be welfare to you.” But when she kept missing work, he pulled the plug. That wasn’t all after his mother passed in 2009, he sent letters to relatives, giving them 60 days to get a job or lose his financial support. Every single one ended up employed.
He’s taking this same tough-love approach with his 10-year-old son, Aman, too. Forget designer gifts or first-class flights chores and coach tickets only. Why? Because Perry insists he won’t raise a spoiled rich kid. As he summed it up, “You want me to hand you the money, but you don’t want to work for it. That doesn’t work for me.
