Popular Nigerian rapper Jesse Jagz has sparked debate after delivering a sharp critique of Nigeria’s political class, blaming leaders for the country’s worsening economic and security challenges.

Taking to his social media platform, the “Bad Girl” crooner criticized what he described as a persistent cycle of corruption and poor governance among Nigerian politicians. He argued that many leaders neglect critical sectors such as healthcare, only to later seek medical treatment abroad under dire circumstances.

“Imagine getting the chance to change your people’s future, and all you do is steal the money and ship it abroad,” Jesse Jagz wrote, highlighting the disconnect between politicians’ actions and citizens’ needs.

He also accused many Nigerian politicians of serving foreign interests rather than prioritizing their citizens, calling them “puppets” influenced by external forces.

Linking the country’s current economic difficulties to past political developments, he referenced the involvement of former U.S. President Barack Obama in global politics during a period of leadership transitions in Nigeria.

“Today’s politicians are no different from the collaborators who helped colonize us, or the ones who sold their own brothers and sisters into slavery,” the rapper said.

He added, “I was here, alive, watching when Obama and his crew backed Buhari — and life has only gotten worse since.”
