Juventus are pushing hard to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen after his outstanding loan season at Galatasaray.
The 26-year-old scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 games, helping the Turkish club win both the league and the cup. Now, Serie A giants Juventus want to bring him back to Italy to strengthen their attack for the new season under coach Igor Tudor.
According to reports, Juventus first made a move before the transfer window opened, led by former sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli. With Damien Comolli now in charge, the club is making even greater efforts to land Osimhen.
However, the deal is not straightforward. Juventus are hoping to sell Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic to free up money for Osimhen’s signing. Napoli, Osimhen’s parent club, reportedly want around €75 million for the forward.
To make the deal work, Juventus may look for a creative financial solution that suits all parties. A similar high-profile transfer happened in 2016 when Juventus signed Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli for £75 million.
Galatasaray are also eager to keep Osimhen permanently and have offered him a massive contract worth between €15 million and €20 million per year. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal remain in the race, reportedly ready to pay him a record €50 million salary annually—despite Osimhen rejecting a previous offer.
Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester United have shown interest too. Liverpool have discussed the striker internally, while United are reportedly concerned about his high wage demands of £400,000 per week. Still, the Red Devils remain hopeful that performance-based bonuses might help convince the Nigerian star.
Osimhen is one of Africa’s top footballers, with medals from the Africa Cup of Nations, and his next move is being closely watched across Europe.
