Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has turned down the chance to join Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray after the Gunners received a €45m (£38.9m) bid for the 25-year-old Brazilian international.
Martinelli has informed Arsenal that he is not interested in relocating to Turkey at this stage of his career, preferring to remain at the highest level of European football if he leaves North London.
Transfer talks highlight Arsenal’s attacking rebuild
Arsenal remain open to considering attractive offers for Martinelli, who joined the club from Brazilian outfit Ituano in 2019. While reports suggest Mikel Arteta’s side are exploring options to bolster the left side of their attack with Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen’s name mentioned during discussions Martinelli is not pushing for an exit. His current contract runs until 2027, with Arsenal retaining an option to extend it through 2028.
