Nigerian singer, Magixx, has announced the death of his mother, describing the loss as one of the most painful experiences of his life.
The Mavin Records artiste shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday, where he posted photos from his mother’s funeral ceremony and reflected on the impact she had on his life.
Singer pays tribute to late mother
Magixx said he was still struggling to accept his mother’s death, adding that he had never experienced such pain before.
“I have never felt pain like this. Never been this lost, still processing that this is real, can’t believe this will happen to you Mom,” he wrote.
The singer praised his mother for her strength, kindness and dedication to others, saying she remained devoted to her family, friends and even strangers despite battling illness in her final years.
He described her as his “reason,” “guardian” and “everything,” adding that he would choose her as his mother in every lifetime.
“You are my reason, my why, my guardian, my twin, my everything. Super proud that you are the one who birthed me, and I’ll choose you again and again in every lifetime,” Magixx wrote.
The singer also expressed his heartbreak over not being able to tell her how much he loved her one more time.
“I wish I can tell you how much I love you one more time, to your face Esther. I am going to miss you so much. Nobody can take your place,” he added.
Magixx said his mother’s final years were marked by courage and positivity, noting that she continued to carry a smile despite her health struggles.
The singer began his music journey in church, where he started singing at the age of 10. He later gained recognition after releasing his music independently before joining Mavin Records in 2021.
Following the announcement, fans and colleagues have continued to send messages of support to the singer as he mourns the loss of his mother.
