Israel DMW, the logistics manager for Afrobeats star Davido, has pushed back against claims that the singer has been banned from performing in Edo State. His reaction follows statements made by Apostle Kassy Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, who declared that Davido would not be allowed to perform in the state over a recent political disagreement.

Taking to social media, Israel DMW dismissed the governor’s aide, asserting that no individual holds the authority to prevent Davido from entering or performing in Edo State. Highlighting that the singer’s late mother hailed from Edo State, Israel questioned Chukwu’s standing to speak on behalf of the state’s residents.
“Kindly disregard what he’s saying. He’s not speaking for we Edolites,” Israel wrote in an Instagram post. “No man on this planet earth can ban Oga from Edo, his maternal home.”
The controversy stems from an online altercation during the Osun State governorship election campaign, where Davido clashed with Governor Okpebholo after criticizing comments made regarding his uncle, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke.
