Nollywood actress, Toyin Adewale, has dismissed reports alleging that her son, popular singer Mayorkun, lost his Lagos residence to a fire outbreak.
A blog post circulating online had claimed that the singer’s home caught fire on Saturday night following an explosion, with suggestions that he and members of his family narrowly escaped.
Reacting via her Instagram page on Sunday, Adewale described the report as false and criticised the platform for publishing what she termed unverified information.
“…why would you do this? Don’t you verify your news before posting? This is seriously unfair,” she wrote.
The actress further expressed displeasure over the publication, stating that she was leaving those responsible “to God.”
“My family and I will never cry, nor sorrow, nor evil shall befall us IJN. Please… learn to do better,” she added.
Adewale also appreciated friends and family members who reached out following the report.
“To my family and friends, I say thank you so much for the calls and messages. I sincerely appreciate,” she said.
As of the time of filing this report, Mayorkun, whose real name is Mayowa Adewale, has yet to comment on the issue.
