Nigerian media personality Mayowa Lambe has remained publicly unbothered following the controversy surrounding her recent marriage in the United States, even as her former husband, comedian and radio presenter Roby Ekpo, makes fresh allegations.
News of Lambe’s wedding surfaced last week, catching many off guard. The development sparked widespread reactions online, particularly as there had been no prior public confirmation of her separation from Ekpo.
Despite the backlash, Lambe appears to be at peace with her decision. In a series of posts shared via her Instagram stories, she reposted messages suggesting gratitude, personal fulfillment, and divine alignment.
One of the posts emphasized that elevation does not require public approval, while another reflected on finding emotional peace and a sense of “home” in her new partner.
Ekpo, reacting shortly after the news broke, thanked supporters for their messages and goodwill. While he chose not to disclose full details of their separation, he stated that he had moved past the most difficult phase of the situation and wished Lambe well.
“Happy married life, Mayowa. May this third marriage be beautiful and lasting,” he said.
However, in a subsequent interview, Ekpo made more direct claims, alleging that Lambe deceived him during their 11-year marriage. He further claimed she secretly used contraceptives to prevent pregnancy.
According to him, concerns over their inability to have children had previously led him to undergo medical testing, believing he might be infertile.
“I later discovered she was taking contraceptives,” he alleged.
Ekpo also expressed shock at how he learned about the new marriage, stating that he first saw photos and videos online.
As of the time of this report, Lambe has not responded publicly to the allegations.
