Wunmi, the widow of late singer Mohbad, has given an update on her ongoing DNA court case with her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba.

The dispute centers on the paternity of Liam, Mohbad’s son, with Joseph Aloba insisting on a DNA test to confirm if Liam is his grandson. He had approached the court seeking an order to compel Wunmi to allow the test. Over time, some Nigerians accused Wunmi of avoiding the process.

In a statement shared on her Instagram page, Wunmi, through her lawyers, said her father-in-law has been “shifting the goalposts,” causing delays in carrying out the DNA test.

She added that the court resumed hearing the case yesterday, during which Joseph Aloba requested that the DNA test be conducted in two hospitals of his choice. The court, however, struck out the application, ruling that the DNA tests must be conducted in two neutral hospitals where neither party has any interest.

Wunmi’s lawyers emphasized that the court’s decision ensures fairness and transparency in determining the truth.
