AS Monaco have confirmed the signing of highly rated 16-year-old forward Ekene Chukwuani from Danish side Brøndby IF.

Chukwuani, who has represented Denmark at U-17 level, enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, scoring 28 goals in 25 matches for Brøndby’s youth team. His outstanding form quickly drew the attention of scouts across Europe.

The deal was sealed by Team Raiola representatives Nima Modyr and Andreas Magaard Nielsen, with Monaco beating other suitors to secure the teenager’s signature.

Chukwuani is regarded as one of the brightest young attacking prospects in Scandinavia and will now continue his development in Monaco’s famed youth setup, which has produced stars like Kylian Mbappé and Thierry Henry.

The Ligue 1 side are expected to ease the youngster into their academy and development system before a possible senior debut in the coming years.
