Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has responded to criticism trailing her comment on a social media post by fellow actress Funke Akindele, amid reports of a rift involving Toyin Abraham.
The controversy began after Nkechi commented “La Funky” on Funke’s post, a remark some social media users interpreted as taking sides in the alleged dispute between Funke and Toyin.
Reacting to the backlash, Nkechi clarified that her comment was made about 24 hours before news of any disagreement surfaced, stressing that it was not directed at or intended to shade Toyin Abraham.
She criticised those attacking her online, accusing them of drawing conclusions without verifying the timeline of events. The actress described such critics as idle and misguided for fueling unnecessary tension among celebrities.
According to her, the comment had no connection to the ongoing speculation, urging critics to refrain from stirring controversy where none exists.
