Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Olakulehin dies one year after becoming king

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has died at the age of 90

Sources confirmed that the respected monarch passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, exactly one year after he officially became king.

Born on July 5, 1935, Oba Olakulehin had just marked his 90th birthday two days earlier. He was crowned the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland and was presented with the staff of office by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on July 12, 2024.
