Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde left guests and viewers stunned after she briefly shut down a young presenter during a live interaction at the 46th Miss Nigeria Patrons & Board Dinner on Sunday.
The dinner, which also featured the Daily Times Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award, was thrown into a brief moment of awkwardness when the presenter, visibly nervous, attempted to have the actress introduce herself on camera.
“Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live with…?” the presenter began, prompting a pause from Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde who seemed caught off guard.
Reacting sharply, she asked, “You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready.”
The presenter quickly tried to clarify, insisting he knew her identity and only wanted to ensure the audience was aware of her presence.
“I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know who I am with,” he explained.
But the actress was unyielding. “Why should I let fans know me? I am tired,” she said, before attempting to walk away from the interaction. The brief interview continued, but the exchange had already gone viral on social media, sparking widespread reactions.
While some Nigerians criticised the presenter’s approach as unprofessional, others defended Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, praising her for keeping composure and setting boundaries during the live interaction.
The moment has since become one of the most talked-about highlights of the Miss Nigeria dinner, proving once again that Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde’s presence commands respect — even from the camera.
