Rita Daniels, mother of Nollywood star Regina Daniels, has failed in her bid to become the next President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
The election, which took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, was won by the guild’s National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu. He will take over from the outgoing president, Emeka Rollas.
Daniels, who was seen as one of the major contenders before the vote, lost in a result that has drawn mixed reactions on social media.
Many users online said they were not surprised by the outcome, pointing to political issues within the guild and Daniels’ past controversies.
