OAP Toolz has publicly condemned a man who criticized the widow of late actor Jnr Pope for “moving on” less than two years after her husband’s death. According to the original report, a video showed the widow, Jennifer Awele, alongside actress Mercy Johnson dressed in outfits that accentuated their figures prompting a social-media user to comment that she looked like she’d already “moved on.”
Toolz responded swiftly and sharply, calling out the man’s judgmental tone and highlighting a glaring double standard: while a widow “moving on” is criticized, it would be considered normal for a man to remarry within a year in the same society.
Toolz’s point: no one should dictate how long grief lasts or insist that a widow “lock herself away.” She emphasized that losing a spouse doesn’t mean indefinitely pausing one’s life and that the unfair scrutiny on women in this context must be challenged.
The post has stirred reactions some agreeing with Toolz’s stand, others condemning the widow for perceived “moving on too soon.” Whatever the reactions, Toolz made it clear she won’t stay silent when she sees social-media shaming.
