A legal dispute surrounding the popular catchphrase "Something Hooge," coined by Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu (Sabinus), has been resolved through mutual agreement and partnership. The President of the Practitioners of Content Creators, Skit-Makers and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN), Micheal Obinna Nwabufo, announced the resolution after initiating legal action against FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC (Peak Milk) and UAC Foods Limited (Gala Sausage Roll) over the use of elements linked to Sabinus' creative identity in promotional campaigns.

The PCCSIGN president sought ₦1 billion in damages from Peak Milk and ₦100 million from Gala Sausage Roll. The legal standoff has now concluded, with both matters resolved through mutual agreement and professional engagement.

According to Mike Premium, the outcome signifies a positive development for Nigeria's creative sector, demonstrating the effectiveness of proper legal channels and dialogue in resolving intellectual property disputes. "Something Hooge" gained popularity through Sabinus' comedy skits and was previously filed for trademark protection with the Industrial Property Office Registry under the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment on November 26, 2021, and accepted on December 4, 2021. The trademark covers several classes, including advertising, business promotion, and entertainment-related activities.

Mike Premium emphasized the need for brands and organizations to respect the intellectual property rights of creators in Nigeria's expanding digital and entertainment ecosystem. PCCSIGN is increasing efforts to educate creators about protecting their ideas and formalizing their businesses. The guild is also developing initiatives to strengthen Nigeria's creator economy, including intellectual property awareness programs, industry guidelines for brand collaborations, capacity development for emerging creators, and engagements with government institutions.

Mike Premium commended the legal teams Eko Solicitors and LawCapitol for their professionalism. He confirmed that no further legal action is pending, concluding that the outcome signals a shift toward a more structured environment where intellectual property rights are recognized and respected.
