Nollywood actress and former AGN presidential hopeful Rita Daniels has lost her bid to become the next President of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). The election was held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 and it was her opponent, the guild’s current National Secretary Abubakar Yakubu, who emerged victorious, taking over from outgoing president Emeka Rollas.
Many fans and observers took to social media to express mixed reactions. Some said the result was inevitable, pointing to existing “political undercurrents and past controversies” around Daniels. Others argued that the loss marks yet another political setback for her a reminder of the unpredictable nature of guild politics.
