I Don’t Name Jesus in My Songs Because He Never Hired Me as His PR- Shola Allyson

Nigerian singer Sola Allyson has addressed once and for all why she rarely mentions Jesus by name in her music and it’s not what many expected.

In a fresh interview, Allyson explained plainly: she doesn’t see herself as a “gospel singer” and never set out to be one. She told critics that her songs come from personal conviction, not religious branding or pressure to comply with expectations.

When asked why she doesn’t reference Jesus in her lyrics, her response was direct: “Jesus did not instruct us to mention His name in songs  nor did He ask us to do PR for Him.”

That stance has reignited debate among fans. Some praise her honesty and boldness to define her artistry on her own terms; others question whether it dilutes the spiritual impact many have come to expect from her music.
