Nigerian singer-actor Yhemolee (Idowu Adeyemi) is fed up and he’s not holding back. In a fiery callout, he slammed the state of social media in Nigeria, accusing users of turning platforms into online “begging sites.”
“It’s no longer news that social media isn’t social media anymore. It’s now a begging site,” he declared.
“The only difference is that unlike the beggars on the road, the beggars on the internet have data… My major problem is those who have a PhD in begging. Please omit all those begging from my own picture.”
Yhemolee lamented the trend where people instantly drop bank account numbers in comment sections and plead for funds a practice he likened to street begging, only with better Wi-Fi.
