The family of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has revealed details of her final hours, saying the actress repeatedly expressed fears that she would die on the day she passed away.
Osoba’s death was announced on Wednesday, nearly two years after she underwent surgery for breast cancer in November 2024. Her family has since announced that she will be buried on August 13, 2026.
In an interview with actor Kunle Afod, Tope’s two sisters narrated the events leading up to her death, including her unusual behaviour and the moments before she was rushed to the hospital.
According to the family, the actress was travelling to visit her aunt, Kehinde Osoba, at her church when she began accusing people around her of being kidnappers.
The matter was later reported at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, where Tope made a formal statement.

The sisters said that while at the police station, an investigating police officer offered to buy Tope snacks. They claimed that during the visit, the actress also alleged that her fiancé had married another woman and wanted her dead.
After leaving the station to visit her aunt, whom they did not meet at home, the family said Tope later complained of discomfort after drinking cold water.
One of her sisters explained that the actress suddenly became weak inside the vehicle, before collapsing.
“When we were in the vehicle, she suddenly excreted. She then fell forward while in the vehicle. That was when I started crying. I also felt that her body was getting stiff as I held on to her,” she said.
The family said Tope was taken to a hospital before she was referred to Ogun State Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had died.
The sisters added that members of the actress’ father’s family advised that she should be buried quickly and that no autopsy should be conducted.
They also revealed that Osoba had stopped going for medical follow-up appointments after her breast cancer surgery.
Earlier, Tope’s fiancé, Itunu Onadeko, had claimed that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu and alleged that she had issues relating to drug use.
The family’s account provides a different version of the actress’ final moments as preparations continue for her burial.
