More details have come out about what caused the death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan.
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, died on July 24 in Florida at the age of 71.
A report obtained by Page Six shows that Hogan died of a heart attack, known medically as acute myocardial infarction.
The report also showed that he had been quietly battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a type of blood cancer, and also had atrial fibrillation, which causes an irregular heartbeat.
His death was ruled natural.
The Pinellas County Forensic Science Center confirmed a cremation request had been made, but the date was not made public.
Eric Bischoff, a close friend and former wrestling boss, said Hogan sounded weak the last time they spoke.
“He said, ‘I really want to see you, but I'm kind of embarrassed for you to see me this way,’” Bischoff said on his podcast.
Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, shared a tribute on Instagram, saying she felt his death in her heart even before hearing the news.
“He used to talk about meeting God like it was the biggest moment of his life,” she wrote.
She also revealed that even though they had been distant, they recently reconnected and had some heart-to-heart talks before his passing.
Hogan had gone through nearly 25 surgeries in his final years.
His death marks the end of a huge chapter in wrestling history
