It’s been two long years since the tragic death of Nigerian singer Mohbad, yet his body remains unburied, stirring fresh outrage among fans and sparking questions about justice in Nigeria’s entertainment space.

Mohbad, who died in September 2023 after receiving injections from a nurse, was hastily buried the next day in Ikorodu. That quick burial sparked heavy backlash as fans demanded a proper investigation. His body was later exhumed for an autopsy, but by then decomposition had gone too far, leaving the results inconclusive.

The toxicology test showed traces of antihistamine but nothing lethal, leaving unanswered questions about whether his death was caused by drug reactions, negligence, or something more sinister. A coroner’s court has since recommended that the nurse involved face prosecution for gross negligence, but the process remains slow and Mohbad’s remains are still in the morgue.

Meanwhile, Mohbad’s father continues to demand answers, while controversies over paternity tests and endless delays have only deepened the pain for his family, fans, and the industry.

Across social media, the #JusticeForMohbad movement is still alive. Candlelight vigils and tributes continue, keeping his memory fresh and pressure on authorities high. But two years on, the big questions remain: When will justice truly be served, and when will Mohbad finally be laid to rest?
