Argentina will face Morocco in the final of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup after a hard-fought 1–0 win over Colombia in Thursday’s semi-final.

Mateo Silvetti scored the only goal of the match in the 74th minute after a smart assist from Gianluca Prestianni at the Estadio Nacional de Santiago. Colombia’s hopes of a comeback faded after they went a man down following a late red card.

The victory sends Argentina to their eighth U-20 World Cup final. The Albicelestes have won the tournament a record six times and will be looking to add another title when they meet Morocco on Monday, October 20.

Morocco made history by reaching their first-ever final, becoming only the third African nation — after Ghana and Nigeria — to achieve the feat.

The Atlas Cubs booked their spot after defeating France 6–5 on penalties on Wednesday, following a 1–1 draw that stretched through extra time.

Morocco took an early lead in the 32nd minute when Yassir Zabiri’s penalty deflected off French defender Lisandru Olmeta for an own goal. France equalised in the 59th minute through Lucas Michal, but neither side could find a winner.

In the penalty shootout, Morocco held their nerve, converting all six spot kicks through Younes El Bahraoui, Ilias Boumassaoudi, Yassir Zabiri, Mohamed Hamony, Saad El Haddad and Byar.

France will play Colombia in the third-place match on Saturday, October 18.
