Nigerian-American rapper Chika has gone viral on social media after her luxury luggage was reportedly damaged during a Delta Airlines flight, leaving her furious over what she described as careless handling.
The 29-year-old musician, born Jane Chika Oranika, shared pictures of her Rimowa suitcases, which she says cost about $5,000 in total. In a scathing post on Threads, she called Delta staff “mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals who don’t know how to be gentle with people’s s* unless they are instructed not to mindlessly throw it around.”**
Chika said this latest incident comes months after Delta allegedly damaged another Rimowa suitcase from her collection. The baby blue bags she purchased in September, she claims, are now irreparably cracked, and the same model is no longer sold.
“I hate everybody who works for them and this time I’m escalating it. I’m about to run y’all’s f*ing pockets because I can’t even replace this bag,” Chika wrote. She also vented in an Instagram story, saying: **“Somebody gotta just start shooting these ns.”
She added: “You broke my fing luggage, I just got that s. It’s not fing heavy, they just cracked the s. And they don’t even make that suitcase anymore. I just got rid of my other ones that they broke, both of them.”
Chika first rose to prominence with viral song remixes on social media and gained international attention with her freestyle over Kanye West’s Jesus Walks in 2018, in which she criticized the rapper’s political views.
After performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she signed with Warner Records in 2019 and was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2020 Grammys, joining a list of past nominees including Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran.
