American rapper Offset was shot on Monday, authorities have confirmed, with two individuals taken into custody in connection with the incident.

The shooting reportedly took place near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, shortly after 7pm, according to reports by TMZ. Details surrounding the circumstances of the attack remain unclear.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, rose to fame as part of the Atlanta-based hip-hop trio Migos, alongside Quavo and the late Takeoff. The group became one of the defining acts of the decade with hits such as “Bad and Boujee” and landmark albums including Culture (2017).

Migos disbanded in 2023 following the fatal shooting of Takeoff in 2022. Speaking after Takeoff’s death, Offset described the loss as devastating, saying: “The pain you have left me with is unbearable. My heart is shattered and I have so many things to say, but I can’t find the words.”

Seminole County Police confirmed that the incident occurred in a valet area outside the casino. Two individuals have been detained, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities stated that the site is secure and there is no threat to the public.
