Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has publicly called out some of her colleagues in the movie industry for failing to support her latest film project.
The actress expressed her disappointment in a post shared on her Instagram page, where she said she had always supported other filmmakers, even when she was not part of their projects.
Okeowo said she recently produced a movie titled “December Party”, but was shocked that many of her colleagues did not promote or support it.
“I have posted many movies I did not even feature in. Even though I have not produced any film since 2013, I still supported others. I even went to producers’ inboxes to ask for their movies so I could promote them,” she said.
She added that despite her efforts over the years, only a few colleagues supported her new film, describing others as selective and unfair.
“I have now produced my own movie, but no one is supporting me. What is my offence? Am I that bad? Only a few people supported me. It is only when bad things happen that you people post. You are wicked,” Okeowo stated.
The actress, however, thanked the colleagues and fans who stood by her, saying their support meant a lot to her.
She also urged those in the industry to always support one another, stressing that success is best achieved through collective effort.
“Support is intentional and professional. We should support ourselves while we are still alive. To everyone who supported me, thank you. I do not take it for granted,” she added.
