Tanzanian singer Zuchu has announced her separation from music star and WCB Wasafi founder Diamond Platnumz after six years together.
The singer, whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud, disclosed the development in a statement shared through her Instagram story.
Zuchu said she and Diamond, born Naseeb Abdul, had ended their relationship and were going through a divorce.
She described the decision as painful but said she had chosen to prioritise her wellbeing after several years with the singer.
“My former partner and I are now separated and going through a divorce,” she wrote.
“After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself.”
The 32-year-old also wished Diamond and his family well, adding that she would now focus on her health, healing and music career.
Zuchu said the pair had made efforts to preserve the relationship but had accepted that their journey together had ended.
“We tried, but Allah has His own plans, and I have no choice but to accept them,” she said.
Diamond had not publicly responded to the separation announcement at the time of reporting.
Zuchu and Diamond’s Relationship
Zuchu and Diamond had been romantically linked for several years before they reportedly held a private wedding ceremony in June 2025.
Their relationship attracted significant public attention because Diamond was also Zuchu’s label boss and played an important role in developing her music career.
Zuchu reportedly met Diamond through her mother, who helped arrange an audition with the Tanzanian music executive.
During the audition, she performed two songs, including a version of Wana, which later became her debut single.
Her performance earned her a place at WCB Wasafi, the record label founded by Diamond.
Zuchu subsequently became one of the label’s prominent artistes, releasing several successful songs and building a large following across East Africa.
The separation now raises questions about whether the development will affect their professional relationship at WCB Wasafi.
However, neither Zuchu nor Diamond has announced any change to her position at the record label.
