Actress Omeche Oko breaks leg in movie set accident, escapes fatal crash days before birthday

Nollywood actress Omeche Oko narrowly survived a near-fatal accident on a film set just three days prior to her birthday. The movie star went public with the harrowing ordeal on Wednesday, sharing a video clip documenting the exact moment of the crash on her Instagram page.


The footage captured Oko filming an active scene on a motorbike alongside her colleague, Victory Michael, who was operating the vehicle. During the sequence at the Lagos filming location, the motorcycle veered off course and rammed heavily into a pole. The high-impact collision left Michael briefly unconscious after he struck his chest against the pole, while Oko sustained a broken leg. Crew members and fellow cast individuals rushed to the scene, immediately evacuating both actors to an undisclosed medical facility for urgent treatment.

“Life is very very fragile. It could have been a different story but God said No. If you see an actor today, give them a hug. We take a lot of risks for the craft. All I can say is thank you God.” Omeche Oko said.

Entertainment industry rallies with well wishes following close call

In her social media caption, Oko expressed immense gratitude for her survival, reflecting deeply on how fragile life can be and pointing out the extreme physical risks actors routinely navigate to honor their craft.

TThe shocking footage prompted a massive wave of solidarity from top Nollywood figures, who flooded her comment section to offer prayers and support. High-profile actors and industry stakeholders sending their well wishes included Mofe Duncan, Chinenye Nnebe, Alichi Chizzy Mbah, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Nosa Rex, Chidi Dike, Toniala Aladese, Doris Ifeka, and Onyi Alex, alongside prominent film producers Uche Nancy and Toyosi Etim Effiong.
