Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has shared her thoughts on parenthood, saying loving children could sometimes mean choosing not to bring them into the world.
Isime spoke during an appearance on the Thanks For Coming podcast, where she was asked how many children she would like to have.
The actress did not give a direct answer on whether she wants children or how many she would like to have.
Instead, she reflected on the struggles of life and the realities many people face daily.
‘Earth Is Ghetto’
According to Isime, life can be so difficult that people who genuinely love children may question whether bringing them into the world is always an act of love.
“You know the craziest thing about loving children? I feel like if you really love children, you wouldn’t want to bring them into the world,” she said.
She then asked whether people were not already dealing with enough hardship in life.
“Are you not suffering today? Have you not seen me today? Is Earth not ghetto? Are you not going through a lot?” she asked.
Nancy Reflects On Life’s Struggles
The media personality said her view was shaped by the everyday pressure and emotional weight many people carry.
She suggested that some people, at different points in life, may even question the burden of existence.
“Don’t you wish some days that you were not born?” she asked.
Her comments have since stirred reactions, with many interpreting them as a deeper reflection on the cost, responsibility and emotional demand of bringing children into the world.
