Nigerian singer Kehinde Adegbodu has dismissed rumours that he is battling a spiritual attack after fans raised concerns over injuries seen on his face and hand.
The singer, one half of the Adegbodu Twins, said the injuries were caused by a fire accident at his family residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Adegbodu made the clarification in a video posted on the Adegbodu Twins’ fan page on Wednesday evening.
Fire accident, not spiritual attack — Kehinde Adegbodu
The singer said he decided to address the issue after people began linking his injuries to spiritual attack.
According to him, the accident happened about a week ago, but he did not post it online because it was not something to celebrate.
“I’m making this video to address the incident that happened about a week ago. This is to clarify that I’m medically okay. There’s nothing wrong with me, I’m very okay,” he said.
“But I had a fire accident at home. I didn’t post it online because it’s not a thing of celebration.”
Injuries affected my hand, lips, face
Kehinde Adegbodu said the fire accident affected his left hand, lips and face, but added that he was already recovering.
He said fans only became worried after they noticed the injuries during a public appearance.
“Just that people got to see the injury on my body during a public appearance, and it’s already healing. Although it’s not that terrible, it affected my left hand, my lips and my face,” he said.
The singer insisted that the incident had nothing to do with any spiritual attack.
“It was rumoured that I was attacked spiritually. Please, I’m not battling any form of spiritual attacks. It is just a fire accident,” he added.
Kehinde Adegbodu asks fans for prayers
Although he denied the spiritual attack rumours, Adegbodu appealed to fans and members of the public to pray for him.
“All I need from you is prayer. May God help me to overcome every seen and unseen spiritual battle,” he said.
His clarification has now addressed the speculation surrounding the injuries that recently sparked concern among his fans.
