American rapper Cardi B has admitted wrongdoing in her fallout with fellow rapper Latto and says she has made several attempts to mend their relationship.

Cardi made the disclosure after Latto confirmed that her new song, Gimme Dat, referenced their disagreement which became public last year following a leaked phone conversation.

Cardi B apologises again

In a post on X on Thursday, Cardi B said she understood Latto’s feelings and regretted comments she made during a heated phone conversation in September 2025.

The rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, said she never intended to disrespect Latto and had publicly apologised because the disagreement became public.

According to her, she has always respected Latto and wanted to resolve the issue privately.

“I always had love and respect for you. I always wanted to make it right,” Cardi wrote.

Latto addresses issue in new song

The controversy resurfaced after Latto’s latest song, Gimme Dat, appeared to reference Cardi B’s previous attempt to make peace.

Speaking during an interview on The Breakfast Club, Latto confirmed that the lyric was directed at Cardi.

The rapper said she considered Cardi a friend and was surprised by the leaked phone conversation.

Latto, however, stated that the song was not intended as a diss track but reflected what she was experiencing at the time it was written.

Fallout began after leaked call

The dispute dates back to September 2025 when a private phone conversation involving Cardi B was leaked online.

In the recording, Cardi allegedly used derogatory language while discussing Latto during a heated exchange.

The leak generated widespread reactions on social media, prompting Cardi to issue a public apology shortly afterwards.

At the time, the two rappers had recently collaborated on ErrTime (Remix).

Cardi says she tried to make amends

Cardi said she later reached out to Latto through her manager, sister and direct messages in an effort to apologise and take responsibility for the incident.

She said both sides appeared to have different ideas about how the situation should be resolved.

According to Cardi, while she wanted a private conversation, Latto chose to address the matter through her music.

Relationship remains unclear

Latto revealed that the pair have not spoken since the controversy erupted.

However, she indicated that she is not opposed to having a conversation in the future.

The development has renewed interest in the relationship between the two female rap stars, with fans closely following whether the pair will eventually reconcile.
