West Ham United strengthened their fight against relegation with a 2-0 Premier League victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
The London side started strongly and opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Crysencio Summerville. Mateus Fernandes drove forward from midfield and released Summerville, who calmly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka.
West Ham doubled their lead 13 minutes later following a well-constructed move. Summerville played a key role again, setting up El Hadji Malick Diouf, whose precise cross found Taty Castellanos, who headed past Dúbravka to make it 2-0.
Burnley responded after the break and created several chances, outshooting West Ham in the first half, but goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and a resilient West Ham defence kept the hosts at bay. Despite heavy pressure, West Ham managed to hold their lead and secure a vital three points.
The win boosts West Ham’s hopes of Premier League survival, moving them closer to safety, while Burnley remain in a precarious position near the relegation zone as the season enters a critical stage.
