Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has opened up about a period in his life when he dated several women at the same time.
Speaking in a recent interview on WithChude, Etim-Effiong said the phase didn’t last long but was a time of self-discovery. He explained that he was still figuring things out and learning what truly brings fulfilment.
“Maybe there was a time I was a womaniser,” he admitted. “It wasn’t for long, just certain periods. I explored and learned from it. Some things seem exciting on paper but don’t always satisfy you in real life.”
The actor, who is now married with children, said he often advises young people against living a “player” lifestyle, especially if they plan to settle down someday.
He noted that marriage does not magically change a person, and people who struggle with commitment before marriage may face the same issues afterward.
“I tell young people that being a player might seem cool, but if you build that habit, it won’t just disappear. If you can’t commit before marriage, you won’t suddenly learn how to after saying ‘I do’,” he said.
Etim-Effiong added that someone who is used to walking away easily or juggling multiple relationships will likely carry that pattern into married life.
“If you haven’t built the muscle for commitment, marriage won’t do it for you,” he said. “One disagreement and you may feel like leaving or looking for someone else to listen to you.”
Daniel Etim-Effiong has starred in several Nollywood films and series and is known for speaking openly about his personal growth and values.
